Congressional Republicans are pushing legislation that would give President Barack Obama until Nov. 1 to decide whether to grant or to deny a permit for the proposed TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline. At a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing today, they argued that bringing Canadian tar sands crude into the United States would help lower gasoline prices and urged the administration to promptly approve the pipeline project.
