Ethanol's Legal Challenges Rejected

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has dismissed the legal challenges to the Environmental Protection Agency's 2009 decision to expand ethanol use in the United States. In a 2-1 decision on Friday, the court dismissed the challenges on jurisdictional grounds by ruling that none of the plaintiff parties had a legal right to challenge the EPA's decision. At issue was the EPA's approval of the so-called E15 fuel (a 15% ethanol blend) for use in vehicles dating back to model year 2001.
