Train Derailment Spills Crude in Western Minnesota

Reuters is reporting that a Canadian Pacific train carrying crude oil from Canada has derailed near the western Minnesota town of Parker's Prairie in Otter Tail County. Fourteen cars out of a total of 94 reportedly left the tracks, spilling between 20,000 and 30,000 gallons of oil. A Canadian Pacific official did not know whether the oil being transported originated from oil sands or from conventional wells, according to Reuters. Read more
