Spiritwood Startup Postponed

The startup date for the coal-fired electricity plant being built by Great River Energy near Jamestown has been pushed back to early 2012. The plant previously was scheduled to be operational by the end of this year. Officials say construction should be completed by October as planned, but that economic conditions are not favorable for bringing the plant online at that point. Read more...
