A conference on the infrastructure needed to effectively move oil from the Williston Basin to market is occurring next week (Nov. 15-16) in Denver. Officially known as the Bakken Infrastructure Development Summit, the event will address a range of topics including pipelines, refining, rail transportation, trucking, financing and investment.
Among the keynote speakers is Kevin Cramer, chairman of the North Dakota Public Service Commission. Cramer's presentation, titled "How to Be the Go-To Place for Oil Investment", will discuss various aspects of the region's oil market dynamics, including production rate factors, commodity prices and marketing options.
