North Dakota's Director of Mineral Resources, Lynn Helms, posted his monthly update today. Commenting on the effects of the harsh winter, Helms reported an idle well count of 677, the most since February 2009 and June 2002 prior to that. Helms also noted reports that well over one million barrels have been stranded on producing locations periodically.
