NextEra Energy Resources LLC announced this week that it will expand its wind generating capacity by as much as 24 percent by the end of 2012. The company plans to add up to 2 gigawatts of new wind power to its current total capacity of 8.3 gigawatts, according to a presentation released with the first-quarter results of its parent company, Juno Beach, Florida-based NextEra Energy Inc.
