• An article this morning on the Seeking Alpha investment site provides a detailed analysis of the recent acquisition by QEP Resource of the Bakken South Antelope field in which QEP agreed to pay $1.38 billion for 27,600 net acres in Williams and McKenzie counties. At an estimated $40,000 per acre, the transaction is believed to be highest bid to date in the Bakken play. According to the article, the purchase includes the proved developed reserves of 73 gross wells with current flows of 10,500 Boe/d net rate, operating infrastructure, and 146 identified net undeveloped drilling locations. These reportedly are primarily long-lateral wells, with 4 wells per 1,280-acre unit each in the Bakken and Three Forks/Sanish formations. Read more...
