According to the Jamestown Sun, the 99-megawatt Spiritwood Station power plant will go online by January 2015. The plant has been idle since construction was completed in August 2011 purportedly due to lack of demand from Minnesota customers. The proposed Dakota Spirit ethanol plant, also located in the Spiritwood Energy Park, is awaiting its renewable fuel standards permit from the Environmental Protection Agency before beginning construction, according to the Sun article.
