Google has announced that it closed this week on a $200 million investment in the Spinning Spur Wind Project, a 161-megawatt facility in West Texas, bringing the search engine company's total investment in renewable energy to over a billion dollars. Google previously invested $38.8 million in North Dakota wind farms owned by Florida-based NextEra Energy Resources in Barnes and Burleigh Counties. Read more
