Diesel Refineries Update

According to an article in the Bismarck Tribune, plans for two proposed diesel refineries in western North Dakota are moving forward. Dakota Oil Processing has been given a permit for a facility near Trenton in Williams County, and the public comment period for the plant proposed by a partnership of MDU Resources and Calumet Specialty Products near Dickinson closes today. Both facilities reportedly would process 20,000 barrels of oil a day into approximately 6,000 barrels of diesel and kerosene blended to create lighter No. 1 diesel. According to the Tribune, the goal of the projects is to help supply the increased demand for diesel in the Williston Basin and reduce the need to bring in supplies by truck. Read more
