New Fertilizer Plants Would Use Ethanol Waste Streams

A Colorado company reportedly is planning to build two fertilizer production facilities in eastern North Dakota next to ethanol plants located near Casselton and Hankinson. The projects proposed by Agrebon, Inc. would use waste streams from the ethanol production process to make fertilizer that would be marketed to area farmers. The company says several more plants could be added later at each proposed site, according to an article in the Aberdeen News. No construction start dates for the projects have been announced.
