If more ethanol plants are planned for North Dakota it appears they won't be constructed by Fagen, Inc. The Minneapolis Star and Tribune is reporting today that Fagen, based in Granite Falls, MN., is shifting its U.S. focus to biofuels and wind after building 47 ethanol plants around the country during the boom years.
According to the article, the company is currently building the country's largest biomass plant near Austin, Texas. Chips, bark and other wood waste from area wood processing facilities will provide fuel for the project, which will in turn power a proposed 100-megawatt electrical generating plant.
