Whiting posted a start date of 10/30 for second rig at NENW 28-140N-98W (#19562). These rigs join the fourth at LOT2 6-139N-97W (#19264) where Fidelity Exploration started up on 10/10.

In addition, a geophysical permit (#970199) was approved on 11/3 -- Geokinetics USA, Inc. for NORTH TAYLOR 3-D; 140-93; 141-93; STARK Co.; 10 sq.mi.
The recent surge in activity may be related to Whiting's announcement in September that two of its wells in Stark were completed and producing at impressive flow rates.
These were the Froehlich 44-9TFH, which flowed at a daily rate of 1,832 barrels of oil and 1,546 Mcf of gas, or 2,090 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day, and the Kubas 11-13TFH, which flowed at a daily rate of 1,780 barrels of oil and 1,035 Mcf of gas, or 1,953 BOE per day. Both wells were drilled in the Three Forks formation on Whiting's Lewis and Clark prospect.
