Minnesota Wind Energy Update

While there has been no news of renewed wind energy activity in North Dakota as a result of the production tax credit (PTC) extension approved by Congress this week, three Minnesota projects reportedly are expected to pick up where they left off in the midst of the previous PTC uncertainty.  Edina-based Geronimo Wind Energy plans to build a 95-megawatt wind farm near Paynesville as well as a 42-megawatt facility to be called the Black Oak Wind Farm near Sauk Centre. The company also is working with Getty Wind, a proposed 40-megawatt project formed by area landowners to be located near Black Oak. All three projects have been approved by state regulators, according to today's news report. Read more
