Dakota Salts Energy Storage Update

London-based Sirius Explorations announced today that it's Dakota Salts subsidiary has contracted with the Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI) to conduct a study of the bulk energy storage plan announced earlier this year. The plan as originally announced called for Dakota Salts to use caverns created by its mining projects in Burke County to store the excess energy produced by the proposed Hartland Wind Farm as compressed air.

The goal of the EPRI study will be to determine the performance and operating specifications of the proposed bulk energy installation and to produce a cost-benefit analysis for the type of facility recommended.
